  • Description

On less than forty hectares, the vines of the Domaine de Chevalier (located in Pessac-Léognan) flourish on gravel soils resting on a base of clay and gravel. Harvested by hand, carefully sorted and vinified in relatively large stainless steel vats, the grapes produce a wine which is well suited to ageing. The wine is matured for one to two years in barrels with a proportion of new wood of around 50%. It seduces by the subtle balance between depth and charm, complexity and intense fruit.

The 2024 Blend: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.

iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note: After stepping away from organic production in 2024, the Château is preparing to return to that path in 2025. The rather comforting nose combines notes of violet, leather, small black fruits and hints of humus. This wine offers real structure and power on the palate, which nevertheless refines on the finish, with a sprinkling of spiced and peppery notes from the Petit Verdot grape variety. A smooth wine with a vibrant hue and beautiful substance. An iDealwine favourite.

Le Figaro Vin : “ A resplendent bouquet, leading you with a tender, welcoming hand into its secret garden of roses, peonies and tulips. Then aromas of bitter orange peel add density, underlined by an elegant woodiness. On the palate, flowers are not far away, accompanied by ripe fruit, coated with spices and mocha. A gourmet wine, as light as a feather, that will give enormous pleasure without waiting years.
