Clos l’Eglise
Pomerol
Description
Located in Pomerol, Clos l’Eglise has vines that draw the nutrients necessary for their development from soils of clay, gravel and iron dross. The latter are about 30 years old and are made up of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, varieties that are carefully cultivated according to sustainable farming methods. Hand-picked and sorted, the grapes are vinified in small vats and the wine is aged between 16 and 18 months in barrels. Dense, complex, the wine unfolds velvety tannins and a beautiful length almost suave.
James Suckling : “A very tight and focused red with racy tannins and a linear, racy texture. It’s medium-bodied with excellent energy and plenty of blackberry and olive flavors. Very long finish. 14% alcohol. 3.7 pH. 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc.”
