  • Description

A Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé, Clos Fourtet is known for being a true model of elegance at the heart of the appellation, even after the wine has been aged for many years. At about 30 years old, the vines which create it have drawn the nutrients they need to flourish from the limestone and clay soils. The Château cares for it vines using sustainable and traditional methods. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months according to the vintage’s characteristics in oak barrels, three quarters of which are renewed every year.

iDealwine Primeur tasting note : “Aromas of red and black fruit can be found on the relatively discreet nose, while the clean, elegant palate, with its perfectly polished tannins, is fresh and sapid, offering acidulous fruit flavours and a very long finish. A pretty wine!”

Wine Advocate : “The 2023 Clos Fourtet is especially suave and refined this year, wafting from the glass with deep aromas of red berries, licorice, violets and pencil shavings, framed by a nicely integrated patina of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and layered, with a velvety attack that segues into a bright, precise mid-palate, it’s pure and lively, concluding with a mineral finish.”
