Clos de l’Oratoire
Saint Emilion - Grand Cru Classé
Description
This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé has been owned by Stephan Von Neipperg (who also owns Châteaux la Mondotte and Canon la Gaffelière) since 1991. The vineyard extends over approximately 13 hectares and sits on Fronsac molasse soils, composed of a sandy sub-layer and clay sub-soil. Vinification takes place in wooden vats, as does maturation, which lasts for 15 to 20 months.
This château’s wines will charm you with their intense fruitiness, beautiful composition and accessibility.
James Suckling : “This shows tight tannins and a racy feel, with floral, black-cherry and dark-fruit notes in both the nose and palate. It’s medium-bodied with a refined and complex nature. Long and true. Finesse with depth.”
