  • Description

Made from the finest Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines owned by this Second Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification located in Pauillac, the grand vin of Château Pichon Baron is the fruit of an 18-month ageing process in new barrels which are made from 80% completely new wood. The wine is sort after from it intense notes of extremely ripe black fruits and sweet spices that led the way for a plump, velvety palate structured by delicious tannins.

Very persistant, it reveals an elegant and round finish. Leave tto rest in your cellar for many years.

iDealwine Primeur tasting notes : “The nose reveals black fruit aromas (blackcurrant and blueberry) and notes of undergrowth. The initial impression is fresh, the texture dense and unctuous, driven by prominent but perfectly silky tannins that slowly reveal themselves, continuing onto the lingering finish. A sophisticated wine.”

Wine Advocate : “A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, the 2023 Pichon-Longueville Baron is a terrific effort from this estate, unwinding in the glass with aromas of crème de cassis, dark berries, pencil shavings, cigar wrapper, violets and burning embers. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, it’s deep and concentrated, with sweet structuring tannins and a long, resonant finish. The charm and vibrancy of the vintage lends this considerable appeal, without effacing Pichon Baron’s more serious, Cabernet-driven personality.”
