  • Description

This property is located in Haut-Médoc where it has been producing wine since the 18th century and was classified a troisième grand cru in 1855. Today, it is owned by the Frey family and managed by the oenologist Caroline Frey. The Cabernet Sauvignon (the majority), Merlot and Petit Verdot vines descend their roots into fine gravel soils.

HArvested by hand, the grapes are vinified plot by plot. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (about 55% are new wood) for 18 months. Dense and with a brilliant profile, it will only get better with time spent ageing in the cellar.

Wine Advocate : “The 2023 La Lagune, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, reveals bright aromas of dark wild berries, flowers, cassis and spices. Medium-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a perfectly balanced mid-palate, it’s elegant and charming with an ethereal, fruity finish. This is an excellent rendition of this terroir.”
