Château La Lagune
Haut Medoc - 3ème Grand Cru Classé

Description
This property is located in Haut-Médoc where it has been producing wine since the 18th century and was classified a troisième grand cru in 1855. Today, it is owned by the Frey family and managed by the oenologist Caroline Frey. The vines of Cabernet Sauvignon (the majority), Merlot and Petit Verdot draw their nobility from fine gravel soils.
HArvested by hand, the grapes are vinified plot by plot. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (approximately 55% new wood) for 18 months. Dense and with a brilliant profile, it will only get better with time spent ageing in the cellar.
Vintage 2024 blend: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.
Vinous: “ The 2024 La Lagune takes a little time to coalesce in the glass, but a mélange of red and black fruit, cedar and cigar box emerge with time and lend more complexity. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and relatively forward with sweet ripe tannins. What is missing is a bit of grip and nuance on the finish, though it is fresh and there is a pleasant dash of white pepper on the aftertaste. Give it two or three years.
