  • Description

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is located in Pomerol, between the localities of “Pétrus” and “La Fleur”, hence its 18th-century name. Jean-Pierre Moueix (owner of Petrus and Trotanoy), convinced of the property’s potential, acquired it in 1950. The soils are composed of deep, white or clayey old gravel. Predominantly Merlot (91%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (6%) and Petit Verdot (3%), the vineyard covers 18.7 hectares. Restructured in recent years, it now enables more precise expression of the estate’s wines. For example, the 2015 vintage is marked by the inclusion of Petit Verdot in the blend. The château’s wine style is characterized by remarkable elegance and finesse. An indescribable smoothness! This great Pomerol obviously has immense ageing potential. Allow 10 to 30 years for it to reach its full potential.

Wine Advocate : “The 2023 La Fleur-Pétrus is very attractive, unfurling in the glass with aromas of dark berries, sweet cherries and plums mingled with hints of incense and spices, discreetly framed by new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, it’s deep and textural, its rich core of fruit framed by plenty of sweet, powdery tannin.”
