Château d’Issan
Margaux - 3ème Grand Cru Classé
Description
Classified as a third grand cru in 1855, the wine of Château d’Issan is particularly sought after by wine lovers who recognize the massive investments made within the property, both on the technical and human levels. Indeed, the parcels are cultivated with care, according to biodynamic principles, and the vinification pursues this objective of magnification of the raw material and the terroir. The wine can be appreciated after a few years of rest in the cellar for its elegant profile, fine, but not without character as evidenced by the tannic structure well asserted.
Wine Advocate : “The 2023 D’Issan shows excellent potential, unfurling in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cassis, pen ink and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping palate that’s rich, fleshy and charming, with lively acids, good depth at the core and a long, sapid finish. It’s a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.”
