Château d’Armailhac
Pauillac - 5ème Grand Cru Classé
Description
Within the Pauillac appellation, Château d’Armailhac, a 1855 Grand Cru Classé, produces a wine composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Pouring it into a glass reveals its deep ruby colour with garnet reflections. It contains aromas of intense black fruits, sweet spices (pepper, cinnamon, and vanilla) and woody notes.
With good ageing potential, this wine is structured by smooth tannins that will melt nicely into the wine with time.
Wine Advocate : “The 2023 d’Armailhac is an attractive effort, bursting with aromas of cherries, raspberries, licorice and cigar wrapper. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with a pretty core of fruit, sweet powdery tannins and lively acids, it’s a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot—which is a rather high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon for this address.”
