Château Canon-La-Gaffelière
Saint Emilion - 1er Grand Cru Classé B

Description
Château Canon-La-Gaffelière possesses a beautiful terroir composed of clay, limestone and sand that easily captures the heat, allowing the Merlot and Cabernet grapes to ripen perfectly. In the cellar, each plot is vinified seperately and slowly. The wine is aged on its fine lees for between 15 and 18 months, depending on the vintage. Interventions are kept to a minimum, allowing the fruit and terroir to express themselves through a wine that perfectly combines the generosity of Merlot with the delicacy and energy of Cabernet Franc and the power of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vintage 2024 blend: 43% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:The nose is marked by Cabernet Franc (decidedly successful!), with peppers and black fruits, quite masculine. Quite concentrated on the palate, with a tight structure that doesn’t detract from the wine’s harmony and finesse. The tannins are well rounded, and the finish has pleasant bitters. For this vintage, ageing was adapted by reducing new barrels to 30%. ”
Le Figaro Vin : “On the nose, a heady, musky fragrance of small black berries. On the palate, a vegetal energy pulsates from the outset, carried by notes of blackcurrant leaf. A wine of rare vitality. “
