Lacoste Borie
Pauillac - Second Wine
Description
Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, which was created in the 18th century by an adviser to the Bordeaux Parliament. It is still in the hands of the family that gave it its name, Borie, which also owns other grands crus classés in the region. This château sits on one of the most beautiful terroirs in all of Pauillac, which is composed of gravel that drains perfectly. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that make up this cuvée are carefully cultivated, harvested by hand, severely sorted, destemmed and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured in barrels which give it a beautiful structure balanced by the roundness of the Merlot. While it can be enjoyed in its youth, it can also benefit from being aged for a few years in the cellar.
Wine Advocate : “Charming and succulent, the 2023 Lacoste-Borie bursts with pretty aromas of dark berries, petals and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and seamless palate that’s fleshy and fragrant, exhibiting excellent purity of fruit. This delicious blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc will offer a broad drinking window.”
