Château Troplong Mondot
Saint Emilion - 1er Grand Cru Classé B

Description
Troplong Mondot is located at the highest point of the Saint Emilion Grand Cru appellation, recognized as a Premier Grand Cru Classé. The 43-hectare estate is surrounded by hills and a valley leading to the village of Saint Emilion. The vines grow on varied but complementary terroirs ranging in altitude from 40 to 109 meters. Merlot often makes up the bulk of the vineyard, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The vines grow on silty clay soils at the bottom of the hill, asteriated limestone halfway up, and Agenais molasses at the top.
Vintage 2024 blend: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc
Wine Advocate: “ The 2024 Troplong Mondot is a beauty, wafting from the glass with aromas of dark berries and licorice mingled with hints of violet and lavender. Medium to full-bodied, dense and deep, it’s one of the more layered and muscular wines of the vintage, a quality this terroir seems to invariably deliver, with sweet tannins and lively acids, concluding with a long, expansive finish. “
