Description

Grand Cru Classé of Pessac-Léognan, Château Malartic-Lagravière offers us a red wine that blends Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot in almost equal parts, completed with a little Cabernet-Franc. All of them are carefully cultivated according to HVE 3 certified principles.

Ces variétés bénéficient de l’influence du sol de graves günziennes du quartenaire sèches et argileuses qui repose sur un sous-sol de calcaire et de veines d’argile. The yields reach 26 hectoliters and come from severely sorted manual harvests. The vinification is done in small truncated wooden vats and in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats.

The wine is aged on its fine lees in French oak barrels (65% new wood) for 18 months.

Wine Advocate : “The 2023 Malartic Lagravière, a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, exudes aromas of dark wild berries, violet, mulberries, spices and licorice, complemented with a delicate touch of oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and elegant with bright acids and a delicate mid-palate, it’s refined and less structured than the 2022 vintage, making it a classic expression from this estate.”
