Château Leoville Poyferré
Saint Julien - 2ème Grand Cru Classé

Description
The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grapes that make up the grand vin of this Saint-Julien château are grown on gravel terraces resting on a base of sand and clay. Harvested by hand, they are heavily sorted before being vinified for one month in stainless steel vats. The wine was then aged for nearly 20 months in new oak barrels, which gives this outstanding wine a certain aromatic complexity, beautiful tannins and, above all else, amazing ageing potential.
Vintage 2024 blend: 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot.
Wine Advocate : “Offering up aromas of jammy berries and toasty oak, the 2024 Léoville Poyferré is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Medium-bodied, dense and blocky, it’s firm, tannic and chewy, with some green characteristics vying with its creamy patina of new wood.”
