  • Description

A Margaux deuxième grand cru classé, the grand vin from Château Durfort-Vivens comes from 50 hectares made up of deep gravel, sand and clay soils. In the cellar, the grapes ferment in oak and cement vats as well as earthenware jars. After plot-by-plot vinification, the wine is matured in French oak barrels whose proportion of new wood is around 60%. Tasting it realves a subtil balance between the fruit and notes typical of this type of ageing (toast, vanilla, sweet spices). Smooth, the palate is nevertheless structured by beautiful tannins that become refined with time.

Vintage 2024 blend: 94.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc.

Le Figaro Vin tasting note:A refined, bewitching bouquet that blends the sweetness of ripe black fruit with the mineral freshness of the foreshore, enhanced by a subtle, sappy touch reminiscent of crushed rosemary stem. The palate is a supple, airy caress, like a lullaby sung in a soft, melodious voice. The fruit, pure and supple, gradually gains in intensity, propelled by a vibrant saline framework, before a long, gourmand, delectable finish that blends fruit and flowers.
