Château Ducru-Beaucaillou
Saint Julien - 2ème Grand Cru Classé

Description
The 1855 grand cru classé is located in the appellation Saint-Julien appellation and stretches over more than 70 hectares. Here, the vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, most of which are old, are carefully cultivated according to reasoned, organic principles. Harvested by hand, the grapes undergo plot-by-plot vinification and the wine is matured for a year and a half in oak barrels. It’s without a great suprise that the wine can age for long ageing and seduces any one who tastes it with its elegance and depth. A wonderful minerality unites the ensemble which can be enjoyed earlier than other wines in the appellation.
Vintage 2024 blend: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot
Le Figaro Vin : “The bouquet is sumptuous and bewitching, evoking the old rose silk velvet of a belle preparing for a ball. We’re in an elegant, luxurious universe, with notes of Damask plum, wild blackberry, and the brilliance of a subtly spiced fruit coulis. The palate is powerful, concentrated and enveloping, with notes of sophisticated black fruits, rocky accents and a supple, satiny grain of tannin. A fresh frame arrives on the finish, which unfurls notes of graphite. The tension and acidity support the substance. A wine with identity.”
