Château Desmirail
Margaux - 3ème Grand Cru Classé

Description
A 1855 troisième grand cru classé, Chateau Desmirails crafts a wine from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that grow in a gravel and pebble terroir within the Margaux appellation. Cultivated according to sustainable methods, the grapes are harvested by hand and each plot is vinified separately in oak barrels. The wine is aged for one year in oak barrels where the proportion of new wood is 30%. Made for ageing, the wine charms you with its great elegance and supple texture.
The 2024 Blend: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:“Gentle pump-overs were used during vinification, and 50% new oak barrels (including 500L formats) were employed, compared to the usual 30–35%. The Petit Verdot played a key role in rounding off the blend, while the Cabernet Sauvignon provided the structural backbone. The nose is seductive and opulent, with aromas of cocoa and coffee. On the palate, the wine is fleshy and generous, with a lovely, lingering finish. ”
Wine Advocate: “ A bouquet of dark berries and spices mingled with delicate oaky notes prefaces the 2024 Desmirail, a medium to full-bodied, juicy and round wine framed by delicate tannins and a fresh and short finish. This is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc.”
