Château Canon Pécresse
Fronsac

Description
The château is located on a terrace overlooking the Dordogne river and its vines flourish in one of the most beautiful terroirs of the appellation (one of the smallest in the region). Approximately thirty years old, they cover less than five hectares and are cultivated using reasoned methods.
The grape varieties are predominantly Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc. The wine is matured in concrete tanks and barrels with the proportion of new wood being tightly controlled. The wine contains a beautiful freshness which can be traced back to the limestone soil. Red fruit and delicate woody notes delight the palate, while the fine tannins conplete the ensemble.
Vintage 2024 blend: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc.
Falstaff: “ Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Fine touch of wood, some nougat and black berries, with blackberry confit in the background. Juicy, dark fruit, fresh, racy structure, mineral and chalky on the finish, lingers, shows certain ageing potential.”
