Château Canon Pécresse
Fronsac
Description
The château is located on a terrace overlooking the Dordogne river and its vines flourish in one of the most beautiful terroirs of the appellation (one of the smallest in the region). The roughly thirty-year-old vines cover less than five hectares and are cultivated using sustainable methods.
Most of them are Merlot but there’s also a good amount of Cabernet Franc. The wine is matured in concrete tanks and barrels with the proportion of new wood being tightly controlled. The wine contains a beautiful freshness which can be traced back to the limestone soil. Red fruit and delicate woody notes delight the palate, while the fine tannins conplete the ensemble.
James Suckling : “A solid Canon-Fronsac with chewy tannins, dark fruit and orange-peel undertones. It’s medium-bodied with rather muscular tannins and a juicy finish. Will it be better than 2022?”
