Château Branaire-Ducru
Saint Julien - 4ème Grand Cru Classé
Description
Located within the Saint Julien appellation, Château Branaire-Ducru’s vineyards extend over some 60 hectares with vines from varieties typically found in the region such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Vinification respects the individualities of each plot and grape variety and is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 18 months (around 50% of which are new oak). Tasting the wine reveals a wonderful balance between the velvety texture and freshness, and spiced and cocoa aromas along with more fruity flavours.
The 2024 blend: 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 3.5% Cabernet Franc, 2.5% Petit Verdot.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note: “This wine’s nose is adorned with beautiful fruit, bursting with flavour and reveals notes of sweet spices such as liquorice. Intensely aromatic, the palate exudes liveliness, unveiling a remarkable acidity and a known presence. The tannins are present but very fine and would benefit from a few years to melt into the ensemble. The finish possesses wonderful chocolatey notes alongside citrus fruit flavours. The wine is spirited, intense and mouthwatering. “
