Château De Ferrand
Saint Emilion - Grand Cru Classé
Description
This emblematic château of Saint-Emilion has a unique terroir. The parcels are indeed beautifully exposed, being among the highest in the appellation, facing south and southwest. In sustainable agriculture, the soil is composed of clay and limestone. In the cellar, the vinification is parcel by parcel and takes place in concrete tanks, then the maturation lasts from 14 to 18 months. In the mouth, this precious bottle reveals a flawless suppleness, intensified by velvety and delicate tannins.
James Suckling : “Attractive depth of fruit with blackberry and black olive, as well as crushed stone. Full-bodied with chewy and polished tannins that are velvety but muscular. 3.52 pH gives it verve. Saltiness comes from the cabernet franc planted on limestone soils. 65% merlot and 35% cabernet franc.”
