Clos de l’Oratoire
Saint Emilion - Grand Cru Classé

Description
This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé has been owned by Stephan Von Neipperg (who also owns Châteaux la Mondotte and Canon la Gaffelière) since 1991. The vineyard extends over approximately 13 hectares and sits on Fronsac molasse soils, composed of a sandy sub-layer and clay sub-soil. Vinification takes place in wooden vats, as does maturation, which lasts for 15 to 20 months.
This château’s wines will charm you with their intense fruitiness, beautiful composition and accessibility.
Vintage 2024 blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc.
Vinous: “The 2024 Clos de l’Oratoire was picked September 24 to October 8 at 40 hl/ha and matured in 25% new oak. It has a light bouquet with briar, cranberry pencil box aromas. This at least has more character and presence than the Clos Marsalette or d’Aiguilhe. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit and delicate tannins, though it does attenuate toward the finish and leaves you wanting more. ”
