Description

This Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel stretches over an area of 70 hectares, whose soil is composed of Günzian gravel, which creates beautiful concentrated grapes. After the grapes have been carefully selected and vinified, they are aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. When tasting this wine, it reveals a wonderful density, ripe fruit aromas, blackcurrant and plum, before it moves into a velvety, pronounced finish.

iDealwine Primeur tasting note : “The delightful and juicy nose is very seductive. The attack is full of finesse, with flavourful aromas of spices and delicately smoked meat. The finish is tannic and still rather rigid.”

Wine Advocate : “The 2023 Poujeaux offers up youthfully reserved aromas of licorice, dark wild berries and smoke. Medium-bodied, firm and slightly austere, it’s elegant and gently structured with powdery tannins and a long, somber finish. A second encounter revealed greater flesh and plentitude. It’s a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon (a higher proportion than usual), 35% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.”
