L’Esprit de Chevalier White
Pessac Leognan - Second Wine
Description
This second wine of the symbolic Domaine de Chevalier comes from seven hectares of white vines that grow on deep gravel and clay-gravel soils. The hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted before fermentation takes place in wooden barrels and the wine is aged for 10 months.
This blend of Sauvignon Blanc (65%) and Sémillon (35%) reveals aromas of white peach and grapefruit with a slight saline note in the finish.
Wine Advocate : “The 2023 L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc, a blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Sémillon, exhibits aromas of lime tree leaves, confit citron, lemon and white flowers intertwined with an exotic touch, followed by a medium to full-bodied, textural and layered palate with fine-grained texture, bright acids and a concentrated, rich mid-palate that segues into a long, mineral and saline finish framed by gastronomic bitterness.”
