Château les Carmes Haut-Brion
Pessac Leognan

Description
The Grand Vin from this Pessac-Léognan property, Les Carmes Haut-Brion, charms everyone with its magnificent balance between finesse and character, density and liveliness. To achieve this, the château chooses varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which draw their nutrients from the gravel soils that rest on a clay-limestone bedrock and are then vinified in temperature-controlled, cone-shaped stainless steel vats.
The wine is later aged in small and large wooden barrels (with a high proportion of new wood) and earthenware jars.
iDealwine En Primeur tasting note : “As always, this wine offers the sensation of biting into a whole fruit, with its unique texture and structure. The palate is round and generous, bursting with red and black fruits leading to a subtly saline finish with a hint of blood orange. A distinctive profile that owes much to the inclusion of whole bunches in the blend (29%). The delicate bouquet is expressive and beautifully balanced, revealing delicate floral notes of iris, peony, and violet. Glass in hand, it’s easy to appreciate the precision behind the winemaking: careful ripeness monitoring, meticulous inter-bunch selection, use of a densimetric sorting bath to ensure only the best berries made it through… An iDealwine favourite.”
