Château Troplong Mondot
Saint Emilion - 1er Grand Cru Classé B
Description
Located in Saint-Emilion, Château Troplong-Mondot features Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc which grows on soils composed of clay, flint and limestone. The biodiversity is preserved as the grass is not removed from around the vines and horses are used to complete certain tasks. Harvested by hand, the grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. The wine is aged in barrels, many of which are new, for between one and two years depending on the qualities of the vintage.
James Suckling : “A tight and very focused young Troplong with freshness and finesse that adds plenty. Medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a vivid finish. Lots of blackberry and blueberry character. It really opens and envelops your palate, caressing every square inch. Cashmere-like texture. The limestone comes through beautifully.”
