At the end of the 1970s, François Mitjavile took over the estate inherited by his
wife, which was called Château du Tertre at the time. It was a property that’d
become forgotten even though it had a rich history dating back to the Romans.
Renamed Tertre Roteboeuf to reference the nearby hamlet, its arid soils sitting on
slopes inspired its renaissance. Mitjavile, a pupil of Émile Peynaud, breathed new
life into the château using old methods – permanent grass coverage, low-trained
vines, and long, careful ageing. Since 1982, success has surrounded the estate that
produces wines which charm everyone with their intense fruitiness and surprising
complexity even in their youth. A beautiful sleeping beauty that arose from its
    slumber in style!

Vintage 2024 blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

Wine Advocate: “The 2024 Le Tertre Roteboeuf offers up aromas of ripe berries mingled with notions of cigar wrapper, espresso roast, orange zest, smoked meats and cloves. Medium to full-bodied, it’s unusually rich and broad for the vintage, framed by oak tannins that assert themselves on the somewhat carnal finish.
