Château La Gaffeliere
Saint Emilion - 1er Grand Cru Classé B

Description
Château La Gaffelière is located not far from other well-known estates in the same appellation, and boasts a vineyard of some 20 hectares, planted mainly with Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. These varieties thrive on a south-facing hillside of clay and limestone. At the château, parcel-by-parcel vinification is the rule. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, and the wine is aged for between 14 and 20 months in mainly new oak barrels. The result is a generous, complex, persistent wine with good ageing potential. A certain freshness enlivens the whole, giving it a beautiful elegance.
Vintage 2024 blend: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:A deep, dark color. A lovely, expressive and complex nose of acidic red and black fruits, also between bell pepper and cigar, starting with the Merlot and giving way to the Cabernet. The attack on the palate is greedy, with a certain sweetness, notes of stone fruit, a fine balance, quite aromatic. The tannins are present and will gain in refinement with age. A lovely finish. A real favorite. ”
Le Figaro Vin : “A beautiful oriental wine, its aroma undulates between spicy notes (white pepper, cardamom) and ripe, inviting black fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant, cherry). Fresh and luminous, the delicately acidic palate recalls redcurrant, raspberry, a summer garden, in a brilliant, majestic, full-bodied substance. “
