Château Grand Corbin-Despagne
Saint Emilion - Grand Cru Classé
Description
Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is a 29-hectare property in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation, in the Corbin sector. The grape variety is divided between 75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils are composed of clay, silica and sand on clay.
The property obtained organic farming certification in 2013. On tasting, the wines are straight while preserving a nice tannic suppleness. The fruit is pure, the roundness of the dominant merlot brings charm and roundness to this wine with a certain potential for aging.
Wine Advocate : “Aromas of dark berries, cherries and pencil shavings, framed by a touch of new oak, introduce the 2023 Grand Corbin-Despagne, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and polished wine that’s supple, suave and lively, with melting tannins and a gently vanillin-inflected finish.”
