Château Coutet
Sauternes - 1er Grand Cru Classé

Description
This Barsac wine draws its origins from a terroir composed of sand and limestone. It blends local grape varieties (Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle) which, suffering from noble rot, offer extremely low yields of around 20 hectolitres per hectare. Hand-picked, berry by berry, the grapes are fermented in barrels, and the wine is aged for 18 months in new oak containers. Designed for long ageing, the wine boasts a golden color and a complex bouquet of spices, exotic fruit, candied fruit and honey.
Vintage 2024 blend: 98.9% Semillon, 1% Sauvignon Blanc, 0.1% Muscadelle.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note: “Mineral nose with candied fruit aromas of quince and apple. Light menthol and smoky notes join the bouquet. On the palate, the liquid stands out for its freshness and balance. ”
Wine Advocate : “A basket of exotic fruits opens the nose, with Victoria pineapple, mango and maracuja. Candied orange peel, dried apricot and honeyed flowers add an extra dimension of gourmandise for a sublime nose: pure, complex, savory. On the palate, candied orange is combined with dried mango, saffron, candied ginger and roasted pineapple. The rich, unctuous, generous body retains its freshness. A chamomile sensation on the long, savory finish delights the palate. “
