  • Description

Located in Margaux, Château Cantenac Brown proposes a wine composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot making up a third of the blend. Aged in French oak barrels of one wine or new (for 60%, approximately), the wine reveals an intense ruby color from which escapes an intense aromatic bouquet and a dense, fleshy and persistent mouth announcing a great potential of guard.

The 2024 Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27.5% Merlot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot.

iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:“This 18th-century estate with Scottish roots unveiled its brand-new winery this year. Crafted around gravity flow in the new facility with raw earth walls and an innovative air circulation system using chimney vents, the 2024 vintage is clearly built to age. The nose opens with smoky notes, intense black fruit aromas, think plum, and hints of roasted coffee. On the palate, the tannins are present, lending the wine impressive structure.

Wine Advocate : “The 2024 Cantenac Brown was cropped at a very low 16 hectoliters per hectare and represents 52% of the estate’s production. The new winery’s battery of smaller tanks made it possible to isolate sub-parcels to attain more homogenous maturity. Offering up aromas of cassis, violets and pencil shavings, it’s medium-bodied, with good density and concentration, built around sweet tannins and integrated acids.
