Château Ausone
Saint Emilion

Description
In Saint-Emilion, Chateau Ausone has chosen to carefully cultivate its grapes which flourish on a terroir of just under 10 hectares composed of clay and limestone. Aged about fifty years, the grapes are carefully cultivated according to organic principles, hand-picked and attentively sorted before vinification in wooden vats. The wine is aged in barrels (100% new wood) for around twenty months. Concentrated, deep, and elegant, it is a proven wine for aging, surprising the lucky enthusiast with very fine tannins.
Vintage 2024 blend: 65% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot
Wine Advocate : “Aromas of dark berries, toasty oak and rich espresso roast mingle with hints of petals and spices, introducing the 2024 Ausone, a medium to full-bodied, lively and sapid wine that’s a blend of 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot. The tannins are nicely ripe, with some structuring oak tannin already lending a supporting presence on the finish. “
