Carruades de Lafite
Pauillac - Second Wine

Description
Carruades de Lafite is the second wine of Château Lafite-Rothschild, 1er Grand Cru Classé of 1855.
Made with the same care as its elder brother, it reveals however a more important proportion of merlot than the latter. This content gives it a fruitier, more charming and accessible character in its youth.
The vinification was conducted in a parcel-by-parcel manner in wooden and stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for between 16 and 20 months in oak barrels (80% new wood).
The 2024 Blend: 47% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:The nectar has dark fruit aromas of plum, cherry and blackberry. Empyreumatic aromas follow. These include coffee, chocolate and even licorice. On the palate, the attack is supple, dominated by a silky tannic structure. Carruades de Lafite is elegant and harmonious. It’s undoubtedly a ready-to-drink wine. “
