Alter Ego
Margaux - Second Wine

Description
The second vin of Château Palmer, Alter Ego is made with the same care as its elder brother. After hand-picking and a drastic sorting of the grapes, they are vinified separately. By plot and by grape variety. This was done in stainless steel truncated-cone vats. The wine itself was matured for around a year and a half in oak barrels, with the proportion of new wood varying between 25% and 40% over the years. Smooth, full and charming, it can be enjoyed younger than the estate’s grand vin.
Vintage 2024 blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.
Wine Advocate: “ The 2024 Alter Ego de Palmer is a lovely wine, bursting with aromas of blackcurrants, plums, rose petals and violets. Medium to full-bodied, supple and lively, with a sweet core of fruit, ripe tannins and impressive richness for the vintage, it’s a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot.”
