Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste
Pauillac - 5ème Grand Cru Classé

Description
The grand vin of Château Grand Puy Lacoste comes from a 60-hectare vineyard of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines just under 40 years old. These varieties thrive on the deep gravel soils and are tended to with care using sustainable methods. Hand-harvested, the grapes are then sorting before spending a long time in vats. The wine is matured in French oak barrels (about 70% new wood) for a year and a half to create this brilliant wine perfect for ageing. Intense and deep, it possesses a beautiful mineral freshness on the finish.
The 2024 Blend: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot.
iDealwine En Primeur Tasting Note:The nose is charming, with scents of oak, vanilla and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is balanced, fine and elegant. The tannins are well-integrated, and we appreciate the excellent length. An accessible wine in its youth. ”
Vinous: “The 2024 Grand-Puy-Lacoste has a light bouquet for this estate, primarily revealing fresh black fruit laced with tobacco and light smoky scents. It is simple but exhibits impressive delineation. You get the feeling that the aromatics are holding something back. The palate is medium-bodied and classic Pauillac in style with all that graphite-tinged black fruit and edgy tannins. This is not a complex Grand-Puy-Lacoste per se, but I admire its balance, charm and gentle grip on the finish. This is classy in an unpretentious way.”
