Château Haut-Bages Libéral
Pauillac - 5ème Grand Cru Classé
Description
Fifth great growth of the 1855 classification, Château Haut-Bages Liberal is surrounded by prestigious neighbors such as Château Latour. The wines are the fruit of a severely sorted manual harvest, a vinification carried out in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and an ageing process that varies between one year and 18 months in oak barrels with a proportion of new wood that reaches 40%.
With a rather intense color, it reveals powerful notes of black and macerated fruits. Made to be kept for a long time, it is a good match for dishes with character.
Wine Advocate : “The 2023 Haut-Bages-Libéral is very promising, bursting with aromas of dark berries, cassis, pencil shavings and violets, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and suave palate with an enveloping core of fruit, lively acids typical of this limestone terroir, and sweet, powdery tannins. It’s a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot with a low pH of 3.48.”
